"Welcome to all of you who came out tonight, and many thanks to those tuning in!" The first contest circuit of the New Year begins with ADRIAN MALCOLM leading in earnest. "We hope you've all had a pleasant holiday, and are replenished and reinvigorated for the competition ahead of you!" He surrenders the microphone to judges explaining about the rules of the BEAUTY CONTEST taking place in Slateport City this January. A panel of judges and their host will be scoring the candidates over the course of FIVE (5) rounds, including an introductory phase set to give the audience a closer look at their contenders for the title of most beautiful in this year's "RESPLENDENT RESOLUTIONS"![break][break]

The mechanics of the contest will function similarly to the core game's contest design. A move will need to be in the proper category in order to score the most appeal points, while moves from the incorrect categories will yield REDUCED points according to this chart. Players will be able to post freely, but the order of operations goes from highest-to-lowest appeal.[break][break]

POFFIN PRIMA DONNA! - If you're signing up from one of the last events, you have the choice to sign-up with an additional note stating your entrant has eaten ANY # OF POFFINS from your available inventory. Their exact effects won't be described here, but you can know this: Each and every Poffin potentially has a use in this, or any other contest thread of mine; whether that opportunity will present itself in this contest isn't guaranteed. Use careful consideration![break][break]

BELOVED OF THE PEOPLE! - People love a familiar face, and have a softer heart for those with a good nature. If your entrant has been in a CONTEST or LEAGUE event before (that was televised/common knowledge is the point,) they will begin the contest with a small bonus to their appeal! (Provide links!)[break][break]

BEAUTY FADES! - Certain type moves yield one extra appeal point, regardless of the move's category. These types will not be revealed publicly until contestants successfully reveal them![break][break]

EYE OF THE TIGER! - Mega Evolution and Z-Moves are allowed for this event, although their typical limitations are still in play (they do not fall under the unlimited move set provisions.) Z-Moves will bolster the effect of a single move selected for the round, while Mega Evolutions will provide passive perks that are balanced around their three round limit.[break][break]

DRESSING ROOM! - Though not actually an appeal modifier, participants need not purchase a new move set in order to participate. As long as the move is learnable within the pokemon's recent move set iterations, they may be used freely within this thread only. You're welcome![break][break]

EYE OF THE BEHOLDER! - As the Judge, Fonz will be allowed to award bonus points as incentives for creative submissions throughout the contest's duration. This could be anything from the variety of resources used in putting together a contestant's post for any given round. Above all, these events are about rewarding creativity even if from an OOC standpoint.[break][break]

There can only be so many participants before things get out of hand, so try to hurry up and apply! After all, you'll want to get yourself in the running BEFORE YOUR BEAUTY FADES!
